Dear Church Family,
This notification is being made at the request of Alberta Health Services out of care for our church family and community. If you were not in the church building during Sunday, July 6, 2025 from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm, please disregard this letter as there is no reason for concern.
We have been informed by Alberta Health Services about a possible measles exposure to anyone who was in the church building during Sunday, July 6, 2025 from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm.
As per Alberta Health Services, what you need to know:
1. Monitor for symptoms and check your vaccination records.
Particularly at risk are:
- Children under the age of 1
- Pregnant women
- Individuals with weakened immune systems or other health conditions
Measles symptoms include:
- Fever
- Cough
- A red rash that typically begins on the face and spreads to the rest of the body
- Runny nose
- Body aches
- Some may experience vomiting, diarrhea, red and/or watery eyes, and/or white spots in the mouth.
If you develop any of these symptoms, please stay home and call 811 (Alberta Health Link).
2. Monitor for symptoms for 21 days until July 27, 2025.
· If no symptoms appear during that period, there is no further action required.
· If symptoms do appear, please remain at home and call 811 for direction.
We recognize this possible exposure may be unsettling news, however out of care for your health and safety and at the request of Alberta Health Services, we wanted to ensure you were informed.
